Tower Circle Motel
A low motel-style building on a wide sandy beach with the ocean visible in the distance.

Two minutes from the sand. Seventy years in the making.

A family-run motel on Hatteras Island, keeping it simple since 1957.

This stretch of sand has welcomed the same surfers and fishing families back every summer for decades. My job hasn't changed much in that time — keep the beds soft, the coffee hot, and the porch light on.

Things to Do

The lighthouse, the water, and the whole rest of Hatteras Island — all a short drive or walk from the door.

A black-and-white striped lighthouse rising into a bright, cloud-streaked sky.A wooden boardwalk stretching through a green marshland toward the horizon.A lone angler casting a line into the surf at dusk.A kiteboarder riding across bright turquoise water under a clear sky.A four-wheel-drive vehicle parked on a sand dune overlooking the ocean.A weathered seafood shack with a hand-painted lobster sign.

The Surfcaster, September

We've been stopping here on the way down to the Point for probably fifteen years now. Nothing about it changes, and that's exactly why we keep coming back.

AF

The Alvarez family

The Double Queen, July

Four of us, two queens, and a five-minute walk to the water. We didn't need anything fancier than that, and neither did the kids.

The Boardwalk Room, June

Borrowed a cruiser the first morning and never gave it back until checkout. Best way to see that stretch of the island, hands down.

The Lighthouse Room, October

Woke up, walked two minutes, had the beach to myself before anyone else was up. That's the whole reason to stay here.

The Dune Room, August

Our dog has stayed here more times than most of our friends have. Everyone at the office knows him by name at this point.

The Surfcaster, May

Simple room, great bed, and close enough to the pier that I was fishing before the coffee finished brewing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, throughout the property. Reception is better in some rooms than others — the office will point you to a good spot if you need it.

Full refund up to 14 days before check-in, 50% up to 72 hours out. Call the office and we'll do what we can for anything closer than that.
